It's great to see artists letting their imagination run wild.
Just a week left to go in the art competition. I wonder if we'll have any more entries. Cheers, Kasper.
Nathan Bourke threw me a curve ball this morning with his unusual 3D entry. Here's his description: "It is of grand mage Nnanelli.. it is a shine made hundreds of years ago by a anchant elder that told of one that would come. With great powers . The shine replicates. Grand mages younger year . It is placed in a his dwelling. In the room that holds many great thourghts." It's great to see artists letting their imagination run wild. Just a week left to go in the art competition. I wonder if we'll have any more entries. Cheers, Kasper. Emperor Chi'garu is one baddass giant, with a black scalp lock and an eye that shoots a deadly laser beam. He is determined to reign over all of Zumar and now only Reloria stands against him. He is a bronze-skinned giant, dressed in a gold kilt, a gold-edged black cape on one shoulder and a thin circlet of gold on his forehead. His head is shaved except for a flowing black scalp-lock. Draw him or another of the characters from the Hunters' Quest novel to enter the competition. More character descriptions are available on the website. Vi is a wizard's apprentice from Nnanell and her incessant talking is driving the hunters crazy! She carries a white wand and wears black robes without shoes. Her black hair is fashioned in two scruffy buns and she has beautiful violet eyes. We don't want to spoil the story for you, so get a copy of Hunters' Quest and read about her magical adventures. There's just over a month left in the fantasy art competition, so now's the time to get started. All the main characters are described here and you can read the books for more insights and to learn the characters' secrets. http://huntersofreloria.weebly.com/hunters-quest-characters.html Awesome pic by Darkasteria Aw, this drawing is just too cute! Well done to young Michaela for her interpretation of Fendi-La and Randir-La, the 2 cute little fairies. I particularly love the way she has dressed them in pink with butterfly hair ornaments. Thank-you for entering and good luck in the art competition. There are still about 6 weeks left, so everyone get out your art tools and have a go. The first prize is $150 and your picture on the back cover of Hunters' Quest :-) " I was dying to get to book 2 and it didn't disappoint as so many series can. The action if anything was even more action packed. Such a great story I can't wait for the last book as I'm so in love with the characters I'm dying to know how it all ends. This author surprises me with unusual events and new ideas so I can't even guess how it will all end." Review by: scott Patterson on Dec. 02, 2013 Posted on www.smashwords.com "After reading the first book of this series "Elvyn Jewel" I couldn't put it down and had to get the second. It is very captivating and will definitely drag you into the story. You will actually be there with the hunters and feel their joys and pains. Hunters Quest continues with the action from the first book and you learn more about the characters. As they journey on their quest to save Reloria you will laugh with them and cry also. Very touching and emotional. New characters enter the story to help the hunters on their quest. As much as I like fantasy on movies I was not one to read fantasy books but this series of books really got me interested. To buy is a must but it pays to read Elvyn Jewel first if you have not already done so. From me a 10/10." Posted on www.smashwords.com by Wayne Stirling. December 2013. This is exactly what I had in mind when I wrote the Vergai characters who invade Reloria. The drawing is called 'Vergai Warrior' by Bailey, age 12 using watercolour pencils. The art competition runs until January 31st 2014 and the winning entry will go on the back cover of the Hunters' Quest paperback, to be printed shortly afterwards. Hunters' Quest is available in ebook form at present, so you can read all about the characters for your drawings there. Amazon.com, Smashwords.com and Writersweb.com.au. Cheers, from Kasper. The reviews are coming in for the new Hunters' Quest novel. Here's the first one and it's a goodie!12/3/2013
This fantastic book continues the saga of the 'Hunters of Reloria'. It lets you get to know more about the halflings and the special link they have with their bond faeries. It reveals the story of the mysterious dragon man Ash and his heritage. It also continues to develop and evolve the characters and relationships started in 'Elven Jewel' (book one). The introduction of new characters with just as much personality as the originals keeps the story alive an interesting. And... the plot not only reveals character twists, but also twists about the actual land of Reloria which I thought very cool. (You need to read the book to find out). If you haven't read the first book grab it and read it before you read this one. I look forward to the final book in the trilogy. Review by: Joanne Steptoe on Dec. 02, 2013 : Published on Smashwords.com A new entry for the art competition and our first look at the Wizard's Apprentice, Violetta :-)12/2/2013
Vi is a wizard's apprentice and is annoyingly talkative. She carries a white wand and wears black robes without shoes. Her black hair is fashioned in two scruffy buns and she has beautiful violet eyes. Thanks Sarah for this faithful interpretation of our Violetta. She is a fun character to write. A friend said the other day that she is a 'delightful character.' She has her own quirky little personality and ruffles a few feathers when she meets the Hunters of Reloria. Read all about Violetta in the new Hunters' Quest novel, now available from Amazon.com, Smashwods.com and Writersweb.com.au We still only have a few entries in the fantasy art competition, so please have a go over the Christmas holidays. Cheers, Kasper. Artwork by Sarah Baethge |
